About Us

We are A, S, and K. A and K are women; S is a man.

S and K have been together since 2012, and in 2019 they met A and clicked over mutual interests in birds, nature, and science. We quickly became best friends, and soon thereafter we discussed the idea of being more committed, and eventually decided to become a triad together. A moved in and the rest is history!

A, S, and K share a bedroom. A is the early bird who inspires the other two to get moving every morning. A and K are the primary caretakers of the pets, and the three distribute tasks and chores around the house based on who can best fulfill them. It is easier to distribute chores to three people than two, and we luckily have found little overlap in what tasks we absolute abhor. This helps things keep moving around the house.

We often rhetorically ask "how does a three-person relationship work?" Here's an example: S hates boiling pasta; A might boil the pasta. A hates cooking; S makes the sauce and cooks the meal after it's boiled. K likes to keep things organized while A and S are easily distractable; after we're done K puts things away.

The three of us have different drives and interests that keep things interesting. A is an artist; S likes to read; K loves doing crafts. In a typical weekend afternoon, A might paint, S might write, and K might embroider or play guitar. All three might go out on a bike ride, or work together on a home project. Sometimes two of us will conduct an activity and the third will do something else. We always communicate about what we want to do and why, and how we want to be involved in each others' days.

All three of us have individual activities we pursue on weeknights. A attends weekly bible studies and martial arts. S often works late and plays Dungeons & Dragons with friends. K is involved in the local embroidering community and musical groups. We all support each others' pursuits, but give each other space to pursue them as well. If we ever need it, we have individual spaces which we have made in our image and which help us isolate our hobbies and activities as needed.
